Elliot Williams to have season ending shoulder surgery

It was announced shortly after the loss to the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday night that rookie guard Elliot Williams will undergo shoulder surgery that will require him to sit out the rest of the 2011-2012 NBA season.

Williams dislocated his left shoulder during practice on March 8. He missed the entire 2010-2011 season after undergoing surgery on both knees and was averaging 3.7 points and 0.8 rebounds in 6.2 minutes per game (according from Blazersedge). Williams was drafted by Portland with the 22nd overall pick in the first round of the 2010 NBA Draft and played college basketball for Memphis.
